For my birthday, I wanted to have family photos taken. We have lots of photos of Lawson, but didn’t have many of the three of us. When we decided to be in Minnesota over my birthday, I knew I wanted a friend from high school to take them. I’d admired her photos of her own family for years and finally had an opportunity to re-connect with her.
I am a planner at heart and immediately set out planning our outfits. We wanted complementary but not coordinated. I actually started with Jim’s shirt and built the rest of ours around it. I also thought a lot about Lawson’s schedule the day of our photos trying to balance his sleep, eating and drive time. He’s such a happy baby and only cranky if he’s tired or hungry. Unfortunately, my planning didn’t pay off as he was really tired and hardly cracked a smile no matter how hard we tried. Oh well, that’s life. We still LOVE the photos and are so happy with them. If you’re in the Minneapolis area, I highly recommend Heidi. I’m already scheming how we can be back next year to take photos with her again! Now prepare for photo overload…it was too hard to share just a few with you (all outfit details below)!
