A Local Thanksgiving

Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? I have to say I’m looking forward to it. After being in Minnesota, it feels like fall (okay, maybe winter), which has me excited for the holidays.

Jim and I have created a little tradition of heading to Napa for Thanksgiving (read about last year’s trip here). It’s a great time to spend together, there’s no cooking or clean up involved and then we hit up some wineries on Black Friday while everyone else is shopping. This year we decided to forgo our tradition since Napa wouldn’t be quite as much fun for me, although it would be a lot cheaper! So we’ll be staying in Arizona. Lucky for us, Jim’s mom is coming to spend the holiday.

One part of our tradition we’re considering keeping is heading to a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. It’s fun to get dressed up and leave the stress of cooking to the professionals. If you haven’t dined out before, there are actually quite a few options. OpenTable has a listing of all restaurants open for Thanksgiving in your area.  Most restaurants have specific Thanksgiving menus with turkey and all the fixings. El Chorro is at the top of our list for their view and menu.

If you’re hosting Thanksgiving, below are a few fun decor options.
