Weekend Roundup

Favorite Flats

I’ve turned into a flats person. I don’t even know when it happened. Sure, my short legs still like a good heel every now and again, but my feet can’t take it for long. A few of my favorite flats: Cole Haan ZeroGrand (bought on sale at the Nordstrom anniversary sale in 2015), adidas Stan Smith, Sperry Seaside, and M. Gemi Felize loafers (similar on sale). PSA: one of my favorite brands, M. Gemi, is having their semi-annual end of season sale. They only have sales twice a year and their shoes are some of the most comfortable I own. My recommendations are any of the Felize loafers or The Cintola sandals in grey for woman and The Agire for men.

Enough about my shoe stash, let’s talk about the week. We made it! It was touch and go around here, generally between the hours of 5 and 7pm (if you saw my Instagram stories, you know dinner has been a challenge). I’ve got little to complain about though…the weather is great, we’ve gone on a walk most days and I had a lunch date with my crew. Today we’re heading downtown for a morning of play, lunch and then picking up a dress for me to wear to Alt in a few weeks. I got my dress at the Cleo & Clementine sample sale in December and cannot wait to wear it!

We’re free of plans this weekend, which is actually pretty normal for us lately. I’m trying to get Sybil on more of a schedule and sticking close to home is helpful. It’s time to get that sweet girl sleeping through the night! If I’m lucky, I might get in a quick run and a couple of dedicated hours to work on blog stuff.

WEARING

I had been looking for a thin turtleneck to layer under my plaid shirts. My #1 requirement is that it have a loose neck. I hate when it’s too tight. This striped cotton turtleneck had great reviews and was on sale so I gave it a shot. The reviews were accurate – I love the loose fit and have already been wearing it. At less than $21, it’s been a great investment! (I’d buy more but I put myself on a one-month clothing freeze.)

WATCHING

I started watching This is Us over the holidays and can’t stop. It is so good. I’m only a few episodes into this season. I love it so much that I make myself space out watching so it lasts longer. Am I the only weirdo that does this?

EATING

After indulging in everything over the holidays, I recommitted to making healthier meals at home to start off the new year. I received the Skinnytaste cookbook for Christmas and have already made two recipes from it. We loved the crock pot turkey white bean pumpkin chili. Bonus points for crock pot recipes!

Have a fabulous weekend!
