I regularly share the books I’ve read and thought it was time to share our current favorite kids books too. Since moving to Colorado, we’ve traded trips to Barnes & Noble for the library, which is great for our budget. I do miss staying up to date on new releases and getting recommendations from B&N associates. It just means we need to make a trip to the bookstore soon!
It was hard to keep this list to our 10 current favorite kids books for 3-4 year olds. We read four books before bed every night (they each get to pick two) and sometimes more.
I’m excited Sybil’s birthday is coming up. We need a few new books to refresh our stash. If you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them!
Current Favorite Kids Books for 3-4 Year Olds
ONE // Spoon by Amy Krouse Rosenthal: After a year, I still laugh at the subtle jokes in this cute book.
TWO // If You Give a Mouse a Brownie by Laura Numeroff: We have three books in this series and all of them are a hit wth both Lawson and Sybil.
THREE // There’s No Place Like Space by Tish Rabe: Lawson likes books about space and has watched The Cat in the Hat a few times so this one is a natural pick.
FOUR / Love Is by Diane Adams: I admit I might reach for this sweet story more than the kiddos, but we all love it nonetheless. It pulls at my heart strings every time.
FIVE // Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker: I’d venture to guess almost every boy has a copy of Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site. It’s such a cute story about construction vehicles getting ready for bed.
SIX // When Charley Met Emma by Amy Webb: In my opinion, the best books present an important topic in an easy to read manner. When Charley Met Emma certainly fits this criteria.
SEVEN // The Book With No Pictures by B.J. Novak: Lawson and Sybil both reach for this photoless book over and over again, which is pretty much the point.
EIGHT // Be Kind by Pat Zietlow Miller: A cute story about what it means to be kind.
NINE // Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers: A beautiful book about Planet Earth. How we treat it and each other.
TEN // Questions & Answers About Space by Katie Daynes: On the longer side, Questions & Answers About Space is a great way for kiddos to learn about all things space. From the first astronauts in space to how they go to the bathroom, Lawson loves lifting the flaps to learn more.
