Girl’s Night: Party Favors

Girl's Night - Party Favors

Last week, I shared the menu for the girl’s night I hosted before Thanksgiving here and today I have the decor and party favors!

The gold pumpkins were inspired by Gilded Harvest Place Cards by Cupcakes and Cashmere.  Since it was after Halloween, my local grocery stores didn’t have as many options so the pumpkins I used were a little bigger.  After a trip to Michaels for gold leafing, spray adhesive and a sponge, it didn’t take long to tape up the pumpkins, spray and add the gold leafing.  I put one at each place setting and gave them away at the end of the night!

I found the idea for the party favors on Pinterest last year and thought a “one line a day” journal would be perfect to give as we head into a new year.  The version I found from Design Sponge here has great instructions for how to create them.  I made a few modifications by using a full index card and photos of past and present girl’s night gals as the dividers for each month (mixed with a few photos that were personal for each party favor recipient).  Since I had to make four of them, I was worried how long it would take me to stamp 366 index cards for each one of them, but it didn’t take long at all, especially with a glass of wine by my side.  If you’re going to make it, I would suggest plastic gloves as you’ll get ink on your fingers from manually changing the date on the stamp.  I actually received one last year as a gift and have loved keeping up with it this year and can’t wait to look back on 2013!  If you’re looking for a homemade gift for someone this holiday, I highly recommend it.  And if you love the idea, but aren’t into craft projects, you can buy a similar version without the personal touches here.
