Have you jumped on the podcast bandwagon? I started during The Serial craze, took a year or so off but now I’m into it. I thought it would be fun to share my favorite podcasts with you in case you’re looking for something new. There are two I listen to regularly, another two that I catch every so often and a new podcast I’m excited to start.
The Top Two
Pod Save America – In addition to reading The New York Times, Pod Save America is my go to news source. If you’ve been reading for awhile, you know I share their viewpoint on most issues. I found watching and reading too much news was giving me anxiety. Pod Sve America keeps me updated on the issues I care about most. I learn something new each episode.
Bad on Paper – I’ve read Grace’s blog, The Stripe, for years. When she started a podcast a few months ago, I was interested but wasn’t sold. It took me a bit but after the first couple of episodes, I was hooked. It’s the perfect balance of books and random musings on life. I’ve actually never read the book they discuss and still find each podcast enjoyable. I especially like their advice episodes.
How I Built This – Each episode features an entrepreneur and focuses on how they built their business. It’s fascinating to hear about how some of your favorite brands were started. My personal favorite is the episode with Sadie Lincoln, the founder of barre3.
Unruffled – I read Janet Lansbury’s book, No Bad Kids, and have found her podcast to be really helpful when it comes to parenting. The episodes are shorter (around 30 minutes) which makes them easy to digest. I scroll through the episodes until I find one that relates to a current situation.
I Like Your Mom Bun– Mandy’s blog and online community helped me through the first six months of motherhood and continues to be a great resource. Mandy and a friend recently started a podcast about finding your mom tribe. As someone that’s moved twice in the past year, I am particularly excited about the podcast. Making mom friends isn’t a slam dunk and I need all the advice I can get.
