Nordstrom Sale – Early Access Picks

Emerson Fry Tiger Tee

The Nordstrom anniversary sale opens to all cardholders today (they called it “Influencer” status) and the general public on July 28th. Icon and Ambassador status opened earlier but you have to spend $15,000 or $5,000 a year to qualify for those, which includes…no one I know.

My personal shopping of the sale has definitely changed over the past 5+ years. Recently I’ve focused on buying basics at a discount like bras and underwear. Not exciting, but it’s great to buy those types of items on sale. I’ve also bought denim jeans at the sale that I’ve ended up wearing for years and a few of the beauty items are really worth it.

My Top Picks

What I’m Buying

I used to be a loyal fan of Hanky Panky, which I still own and wear, but the Natori Perfection Thongs are a little more comfortable. I am stocking up on them in the cosmetic shade. (As a side note, I used to buy whatever random colors/patterns were on sale. Much like the rest of my closet, I am shifting to a limited range of colors. I don’t need to spend even a minute thinking about what color underwear I want to wear!)

Items I Own and Love

True & Co Bralette: I bought this bralette during the sale last year and have found it very comfortable. I mostly wear it at night, but will occasionally wear it during the day as well.

Natori Feathers Bra: This is currently the only bra I own. The sale is a great time to buy a new one at a discount.

Charles by Charles David Pump: I bought these in the nude leather 5 or 6 years ago. These days I may wear them once a year, but I’m always glad to have them in my closet.

Frame Le High Straight Leg Jeans: I’ve had an earlier version of these jeans for 5 years (seen above).  They’ve been one of my most worn jeans since. The button is finally coming out of them and I’ve worn holes in the knees so as long as they aren’t sold out, I’m going to order these as a replacement.

GHD Soft Curl Iron: Yes, this is a lot of money to spend on a curling iron. It heats up in seconds and gives a truly soft curl. I’d replace it in a heartbeat if I lost it.

Slip Hair Tie Set: These are truly the best hair ties. I gave them as gifts last Christmas. You could break up this set into smaller gifts this holiday season.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask Set: For just $13 more than the individual resurfacing mask, you can try 3 other mini masks.

L’Occitane Almond Oil Set: This almond oil feels like a luxury in the shower for shaving your legs. I’m considering purchasing this set as a birthday gift to myself!

Clare V Midi Sac: I have this bag in a different color and have been surprised by how often I find myself reaching for it. It easily fits my phone, card case, sunglasses, and lip gloss.

Kwiat 1.5cw Diamond Stud Earrings: Alright, these are a huge splurge, but if you’ve been thinking about a pair of diamond stud earrings, you might as well buy them at a discount. I gifted myself a pair from Macy’s for my 30th birthday and have worn them almost every day for 15 years. Smaller sizes also on sale here.

What I’m Not Buying

Other than denim, none of the clothing I’ve purchased at the sale has stood the test of time so I don’t typically shop the dresses, sweaters or shirts anymore. While there are some great baby gear sales like the Stokke Tripp Trapp Chair, I didn’t see any kids clothing that I loved other than The North Face winter jackets.
