I thought about a lot of things when I was pregnant with Lawson, but the clothing I would wear when I was breastfeeding wasn’t one of them. I wish I would have given it more thought, especially since I breastfed Lawson for 8 months and Sybil almost a full year and counting. Clothing, particularly nursing friendly dresses, can be hard to find.

I wear a lot of button down shirts to accommodate nursing on the go, but sometimes I get sick of them and want to wear a dress. This Loyal Hana dress, now on sale, has been a go to during pregnancy (worn here and here) and afterwards. It has zippered openings that are easy to access for nursing. I’ve had so many people ask me about it. They never guess it has zippers for nursing! It also has pockets. More and more I feel pockets should be a requirement for dresses!

Shirt and wrap dresses are other great options for nursing. I love this printed shirt dress from J. Crew Factor (also comes in petites), this chambray shirt dress, and this short sleeve shirt dress (comes in navy and green). This floral midi wrap dress and this ruffle wrap dress are two of my favorites. The best part about all of these is they can be worn whether you’re breastfeeding or not!
