Holiday Style

Pleated Midi Skirt

It’s such a rare occasion that I get dressed up these days. It’s fun to put on a skirt. I balanced the dressier skirt with my go to cashmere sweater.

Years ago, I saw a pleated midi skirt paired with a graphic tee. I tried to find that skirt for months. When I got this pleated midi skirt, I wasn’t sure I’d keep it. It’s a gorgeous navy (I also think the burgundy and green colors are really pretty).

This outfit is one of two options for our family photos next week. It would also be great for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner and holiday parties.

Do you take holiday photos? This is the first year we are. In the past, we’ve taken family photos earlier in the year and used them for our Christmas cards. I love getting family photos taken together. I always look back on them and my heart swells (Sybil’s newborn session here). Since we didn’t do it earlier in the year, we’re doing a holiday themed shoot the day after Thanksgiving.

There are two color themes I’m considering for the four of us: navy/grey or black/leopard/burgundy. I’m going so far as to put together a collage of our outfit options to help me decide! I might need to share it next week to make a final decision.

A quick note on sizing…I am wearing a petite because I wanted a little shorter length. I do think it runs a size small in the waist and wish I had gotten a bigger size. The petite sizes are mostly sold out, but I keep watching for it to come back in stock.

P.S. How do you like my Birkenstock tan lines from this summer? Ha!
