PSA: J. Crew Sale

J Crew Drapey Spaghetti Strap Dress

Yesterday morning I woke up to a chill in the air and temperatures in the 50’s. It felt like a crisp, fall morning. I had a couple of sweaters saved in my J. Crew online cart, saw they had one of their super promotions going on and placed an order before 8am. The sale goes through September 3rd, but shop early for the best selection!

Before I jump into the sweaters I picked up, I have to share the J Crew drapey spaghetti strap dress I’m wearing in these photos is on sale for $47, which is more than $100 off! It is very comfortable and I found it to be flattering. It’s perfect for all the summer holidays. I highly recommend.

Now onto the sweaters…I tried on the ruffle neck pullover in store a couple of weeks ago and have been waiting for a good sale. I couldn’t decide between the heather nickel (the color I tried on and is more in my comfort zone) and intense pink (I get compliments every time I wear this color) so I ordered both.

I have the sweater blazer in black from last year. It’s a perfect layering piece for cool mornings when you know it’s going to heat up. The sweater blazer is usually excluded from their promos, but happened to be included so I grabbed it in grey. I actually think that color will go better with my shirts and have a little buyer’s remorse for purchasing it in black last year.

The Tippi is one of my most worn sweaters. I have it in grey, navy and black (throwing it way back to my first year of blogging when I wore it here). This year they came out with a leopard collar option that I’m hoping will be perfect with skinny jeans and loafers.

Back to dresses…I’ve looked at this cap sleeve midi dress at least 5 times over the summer. When I saw it was less than $19, I immediately added it to my cart. It isn’t final sale, which is one of my requirements when I haven’t tried an item on before.

And now a little personal news…you guys, I am so proud of Lawson. We went to preschool orientation yesterday. There were tears all around when we left the classroom for 45 minutes, but overall he did awesome. His first real day will be Thursday. We went back and forth between two and three days a week before settling on two (it was available in the class we wanted and less expensive until we have some income).

So of course I had to get a few back to school clothes for him too! He picked out this henley shirt in green and I also ordered it in navy. I have a feeling preschool activities will be messy so I stuck to darker colors.

Finding pants that fit Lawson is super hard. He’s tall and skinny. Most pants that fit him in the waist are true high waters. Since I was placing an online order, I bought a pair of cords, jeans and chinos to see if any of them fit. He only has two pairs of long pants that don’t look completely ridiculous on him. Fingers crossed at least one of these work.

Last, but not least, this striped seersucker shirt Lawson wore in family photos this summer is on sale for $19. He always gets a ton of compliments whenever he wears it. They have quite a few older kid sizes left too!

I try really hard to only share the items I’m super excited about. These all make the list. And you know I love a good sale. ;) Happy shopping friends!
