September Wish List

September-Wish-List

Now that September is half over, it’s as good a time as any for my September wish list! While our weather isn’t quite fall-like yet, I can feel it coming in the cool evenings and changing leaves. After living in Arizona and California for the past 10+ years, I’m ready for a real fall. Bring on sweater weather!

I’ve had my eye on a denim jacket for months. I can’t get this Madewell version out of my head. I have some birthday money and it might finally be time to hit buy. I think it would look great with a pair of black jeans! I have the Citizens of Humanity rocket crop in a lighter wash. Ever since I bought them at the beginning of summer, they’ve become the only jeans I wear (seen here and here). I promise I’m not exaggerating. I’m crossing my fingers Nordstrom carries them soon. I have a gift card that I’d like to use since they are definitely a splurge.

I read the Curated Closet two years ago when I was struggling with my post-career, new mom style. It’s a really well done book to help hone in on your personal style, whatever your circumstances. I was excited to see the author came out with a workbook recently. Now I want to go through the book again with the workbook by my side.

You already know my love for this sweater with a leopard collar. I’m ready for cooler temperatures so I can actually wear it! I’d style it with my favorite skinny jeans (on sale with limited sizes left) and these mules. There’s something about mules that makes an outfit look polished. My goal is to look put together (because I rarely ever feel put together) with the least amount of effort and comfortable basics!

What else would I wear with these black mules, you ask? Well, this jumpsuit! It looks so comfortable. I had no idea Nordstrom carried Lou & Grey, which is owned by the parent company of Ann Taylor and LOFT. They only have 12 locations so being able to buy their pieces at Nordstrom with free shipping and returns is awesome.

When I cleaned out my closet during our past two moves, there were only 3 button-down shirts that made the cut. One is very similar to this J. Crew factory plaid shirt. They’re great to wear under a tippi sweater or sweater blazer (or this cashmere sweater for $100). Did you know you can buy some J. Crew Mercantile items on Amazon now? I rarely order from J. Crew factory because there isn’t a location close for returns, but buying on Amazon could convince me otherwise!

Last, but not least, a fun pair of earrings! Tassel earrings are everywhere and I don’t see them going away anytime soon. I also love the tassel earrings by Natalie Borton. They are sold out, but you can sign up for her mailing list to be notified of restocks (or follow her on instagram, she always announces it there too). I always prefer to support small, women owned businesses!
