Weekend Roundup

Weekend

Our little Sybil has quite the gas for such a sweet girl. It might be cute if it didn’t bother her so much. She’s in so much pain that she screams for hours and refuses to nurse at times. My heart breaks hearing her scream. We’re going to try giving her a couple of things (gripe water, colic calm) to alleviate the pain. Fingers crossed something works!

In other news, we are enjoying the slightly cooler temperatures this week. I’m so, so happy there isn’t another 100+ day in the forecast. I am beyond ready for fall! Lawson is a true Phoenician. It was less than 100 and he was shivering at the splash pad. I don’t know if he’d survive in a cold weather location. His body wouldn’t know what to think!

Sybil will be one month old on Sunday! The past 4 weeks haven’t been easy, but they do go fast. Another couple of weeks and I think we’ll find our groove a bit. And more sleep. We definitely need more sleep.

Other than some stuff around the house and a visit from Jim’s sister, we don’t have many weekend plans. Next week real life starts when I have to care for these two little ones by myself. Yikes! I start to sweat just thinking about it.

WEARING

Jim gifted me this Maya Brenner initial necklace with Lawson and Sybil’s initials after Sybil was born. I received it this week and have been wearing it non-stop. It makes me proud to put it on. Being a mother isn’t easy, but the love I feel for my kids is unlike anything else. This necklace is a reminder of that love.

SHOPPING

Now that it’s cooled off a bit, I’m dreaming of wearing pajama pants and have the J. Crew dreamy striped pant at the top of my wish list. They are so soft and cozy!

READING

If you’re at all interested in supplements, I recommend reading Victoria’s post on her journey with fatigue. Other than pre-natal vitamins, I don’t regularly take any supplements, but I have friends that swear by them. I found Victoria’s post on how they’ve improved her energy and skin really interesting. It’s something I’ll look into when I’m done breastfeeding.

Have a fabulous fall weekend!
