Weekend Roundup: No. 211

Weekend

Hello, hello! Anyone else feel like this month is flying by? My parents and brother arrive in a week. It’s been five years since we spent Christmas together. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited.

I’ve been planning our Christmas menu with my mom and brother. I did the same for Thanksgiving and really enjoyed it. I need to find a local bakery where I can pick up cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning. They are my favorite!

On Monday I flew to Arizona for our annual holiday girl’s night. It was a quick 24 hour trip, but well worth it. This year instead of exchanging gifts, we all bought matching pajamas. Not only were they comfortable, we could all roll right into bed after too many glasses of wine!

When I was in Arizona, I also got a haircut. It was only my second haircut of the year and first time I’ve gotten it colored since last December. The grey hairs were definitely showing through.

One of my girlfriends had on the chicest outfit. A black top, black jeans and leopard loafers. Now I’m off in search of the perfect leopard loafers (hers were from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and long sold out). So far these Cole Haan loafers are the top contender. They seem to be on sale in other stores, but I can’t find my size.

Today we’re finishing up some holiday stuff – mailing out presents to family, dropping off our cards at the post office, picking up last minute gifts. Tomorrow I have a long run and lots of cleaning to do around the house. Finally, on Sunday we’re hosting friends we haven’t seen in far too long. A good, quality weekend!

HIGH POINT:

Spending time with my best girlfriends. I hope I’ll always be able to make our annual December girl’s night.

LOW POINT:

I sound like a broken record, but these winter colds have got to go!

FIND OF THE WEEK:

If I would have known about these socks, they would have made my wish list. Not only are they cute, but for every pair sold they donate a pair of socks. I love a company with a conscience.
