Weekend Roundup: No. 221

Easter Weekend

This week was a good one. I ran 3 days in a row, we spent almost every afternoon outside (Lawson loves to ride his bike around the block) and I had a few hours to myself yesterday morning.

Today Lawson, Sybil and I are flying to the east coast to meet up with Jim (he was traveling for work) and then spending the holiday weekend with his family. I’ve traveled with the kiddos by myself 5+ times before, but this is the first time I’m not anxious about the flight. At 2.5 and 4 years old, all you need is an iPad, a new book and game, and a ton of snacks. Ha, the flight will probably be a disaster now!

I’m working on our summer plans since Lawson won’t be going to preschool. I signed them up for swim (Sybil), music, and baseball (Lawson). Lawson will also be going to a space art adventure camp the last week of June. Fingers crossed we can mix in a camping trip or two.

I’ve been a fan of Olive & June since before we moved to LA. I follow the founder on Instagram and am a fan. I think it’s because she’s a former finance person that opened a nail salon, which has been an off and on dream of mine. Anyway, yesterday Olive & June launched a nail care kit. I think it’s about the most brilliant thing ever. I feel so much more put together with a manicure, but since taking over our budget my once monthly manicures have become a thing of the past. Maybe I’ll actually start doing them on my own!

If you’re celebrating or egg hunting this Easter weekend, have a great one!

HIGH POINT:

I spent 90 minutes at a coffee shop by myself! It was the first time in probably 5 months and it felt great. Now I’m convinced I need a babysitter for 3 hours every other week.

LOW POINT:

I honestly can’t think of a low point this week. The sign of a good week, right??

FIND OF THE WEEK:

I had a $20 rewards card from J. Crew that was expiring and picked up this ruffle sleeve embroidered top during a 40% off promo. I got it in black and kind of want it in white too. Lawson told me I looked cute when I wore it with my leopard mules.

WHAT I’M READING:

I almost never read more than one book at a time. Some people do it, but my brain can’t shift back and forth that much. This week, I’m breaking my own rule and reading both 1-2-3 Magic and Daisy Jones & The Six. Now I desperately want a Daisy Jones & The Six concert tee.
