Weekend Roundup: No. 223

Weekend

A happy early Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there! It’s a hard job, but the best  especially when your 4 year old answers a question about if he knows his birth date with “well, of course I do.” They make me laugh!

This week was a bit boring. We had rain or snow for 4 days straight. Our outdoor activities were nonexistent. The last time I ran was 5 days ago. We’re ready for some sunshine again!

Earlier this week I shared ideas for a summer capsule wardrobe over on Momma Society. There’s everything from shirts to shorts to dresses. Check it out and give it some love!

There was another mass shooting this week, this time at a school in Colorado not far from where we live. Jim and I were just talking about the exact school on Sunday. Mamas with kids, how do you drop them off at school each day?? It’s terrifying, sad and frustrating that kids are not safe in school. I encourage you to check out Moms Demand Action if you want to get involved.

Tomorrow I’m treating myself to a Mother’s Day pedicure. A Beautycounter store opened in Denver that I’d like to check out. I’m no longer a consultant, but I still love their products and would be happy not to pay for shipping. My friend’s daughter has a gymnastics meet on Saturday afternoon that Lawson and I are going to hit up during Sybil’s nap time.

And Sunday?! Who knows?? I didn’t think it was possible, but Lawson has kept my present a secret all week. Jim mentioned going out to brunch. If I don’t have to cook or plan it, I’ll eat anywhere. ;)

HIGH POINT:

Eh, I can’t think of one. Maybe that we’re all healthy? I’m always grateful for our health.

LOW POINT:

Sybil has been insisting you hold her hand to fall asleep at night. She’s also waking up overnight and unable to fall back asleep on her own.

FIND OF THE WEEK:

I wandered into J. Crew and was drawn to this linen shirt in the perfect shade of blue for summer.

WHAT I’M READING:

I finished Lost Roses last week. I’m glad I kept reading because the ending was worth it. Then I jumped back into 1-2-3 Magic, a parenting book. I got The Southern Side of Paradise yesterday and am so excited to read it. It’s the last book in a favorite series. Highly recommend for a day by the pool or beach too!
