Weekend Roundup: No. 254

Weekend

Anyone else ready to see the calendar flip to February? I most definitely am. This month hasn’t been our best with sickness and sleepless nights. In case you don’t know me well, lack of sleep makes me quite angsty.

This weekend will be beautiful. It should be in the mid-60’s and I am very much looking forward to it. I plan to spend lots of time outside before it drops 25 degrees and snows early next week.

Sometimes I look back on photos from earlier in the week and realize I’m wearing the exact same outfit, which happened when I went to upload this photo from Sunday. Clearly I have a uniform!

This is the only weekend of the month that we won’t have visitors in town. It’s going to be a fun one with lots of family and friends to spend time with. We’re pretty lucky so many people want to come to Colorado in February!

I posted it on Facebook yesterday, but I made this soup (minus the kale) and it was delicious. I highly recommend it, especially if you’re doing Whole30.

After reading Julia’s post about Fair Play, I immediately ordered a copy. I often feel as though I take on more of the household tasks, which makes sense since I don’t work outside of our house. I’m interested in the author’s view on fair, but not always equal. Now I just need to get Jim to go through it with me!

Lawson and Sybil’s preschool fundraiser is at the end of February. The theme is The Places You’ll Go. I’ve mentioned it before, but I don’t really like to wear dresses and don’t want to spend money on a new one that I’ll wear one night. I’m looking into Rent the Runway and also have this dress on backup. I think the color goes with the theme!

Last week I mentioned I was undecided on the series, Fleabag. Well we finished season 2 this week and I got hooked.

HIGH POINT:

I’ve worked out every day this week except Wednesday. Although my weight isn’t changing, I feel great about working out.

LOW POINT:

Lawson and Sybil waking me up every night, including from 1-4am on Wednesday morning. That sucked.

FIND OF THE WEEK:

I’m considering this book caddy for the playroom or Lawson and Sybil’s bedroom. There’s a fierce battle for favorite color in our house – Sybil really wants blue and Lawson is partial to the mint green. It’s currently 20% off and gets great reviews.

CURRENTLY READING:

I should finish up So Here’s the Thing… in the next 24 hours. I’ve vowed to stop requesting books from the library until I get through my own nightstand pile. I did get two cookbooks to check out – Love Real Food and Love & Lemons Every Day. I also want to check out The Defined Dish, but there’s a waitlist for that one.
