Weekend Roundup: No. 277 Birthday Edition

M Gemi Sale

Today’s weekend roundup is a birthday edition. Today is my 44th birthday. 44! I’m not quite sure where the last five years went. I’m planning to start the day with a run and workout followed by brunch with my luvs. I’ve wanted to try takeout from a local Thai restaurant for months and am finally going to do it tonight. Can you tell my birthday wish was not to cook for the entire day??!

We had some interior painting done this week. It is so nice to have it finished even though it threw me off of my routine and schedule. We all have a better week when it’s planned out. I did manage to take Lawson and Sybil to the park for a morning of scootering and the driving range one afternoon. I love that they both love going to the driving range. Lawson would stay there all day if he could!

Since Sybil isn’t going to preschool this fall, I’ve been looking into a curriculum to do with her at home. My friend Mandy introduced me to The Good and the Beautiful. I did some of the free Language Arts course with Lawson and Sybil the past couple of weeks and liked it. I purchased the Pre-K curriculum for Sybil and a couple of the Kindergarten workbooks for Lawson. The instructions are incredibly easy to follow. Everything I need to say is written out, which is key for me. I don’t want to prep or think about it too much. They have preschool to high school courses available.

Yesterday we got a ton of information about kindergarten for Lawson, including his teacher assignment! His face lit up when I told him we needed to go to school next week to pick up his supplies and computer. He is very excited to start kindergarten even if it’s remote.

I’ve been on a movie kick after the kids go to bed at night. I’ve watched To All the Boys I Loved Before (cute YA rom com), Athlete A (documentary about USA gymnastics scandal), Becoming (Michelle Obama documentary) and Miss Americana (continuing my Taylor Swift obsession). I would recommend all of them. I turned on Athlete A one night when I should have been writing a post and thought I could watch it in the background. It was so engrossing and disturbing, I ended up shutting my computer to focus on it.

Speaking of TV, if you are a fan of The Crown, did you see season 4 will be released on November 15th? I am in the middle of season 3 and savor each episode.

The comment section on this Cup of Jo post about beauty products is a gold mine. I recommend setting aside 15 minutes and reading through them!

There are two sales I want to mention that you may not have seen everywhere else. PlanetBox has up to 40% off select items, including the lunch boxes we use, and free shipping with code ShipShipHooray. I own a pair of both the Pastoso and Felize drivers from M. Gemi (shown in the photo above). They are currently 30% off with code summer30. I size up 1/2 size for a looser fit. The promo code applies to everything on the site.

HIGH POINT:

We had the oak on our railing, a bench, guest bathroom cabinets and master bedroom windowsills painted white. It looks much better and more modern. Now I need a bench cushion made. If you have any recommendations, let me know!

LOW POINT:

I’ve been on edge this week. Hoping to snap out of it this weekend.
