What I Bought in September

September is the month I attempted to curb my spending. Buying more has increasingly made me feel uncomfortable. I’m happy to report I made progress, while acknowledging I have more work to do especially as we had into the holiday season.

Also, a quick note to share that One Third released a new jacket today. It’s a gorgeous black and white houndstooth and immediately went on my wish list!

New Balance 327 Sneakers: I had been looking for a pair of sneakers to add to my collection and settled on these in navy. They have already proven to be worth it. They are comfortable right out of the box and I love the extra tread on the soles.

Tea Collection Stripe-Out Joggers: I’m still trying to build out Lawson’s cold weather pant collection. We added these from a local children’s boutique.

Sweaty Betty All Train Sports Bra: I’ve been on an endless search for the perfect sports bra for years. I’m still not sure it exists and this one takes a bit of maneuvering to get into, but one you’re in, you’re not going to move.

Brain Quest Workbook: Sybil would go to school all day if it was up to her. She flew through the summer workbook from Brain Quest so I bought her the Kindergarten version.

Reusable Cotton Round Set: I had been looking to replace the cotton pads I use twice a day for toner with a more sustainable option. When we were at the farmer’s market, I came across The Conscious Merchant booth and saw this set. So far, so good!

The Secret Explorers: One of our favorite chapter books, I ordered the next couple of books in the series for an upcoming trip.

Dudley Stephens Terry Fleece: Ever since last winter, I had been searching for the Park Slope fleece in hunter green. When they restocked it this month, I used some customer loyalty points to order.

AYR The Zip: Quarter-zip sweatshirts are big this fall and fit perfectly into my elevated casual style. I tried it on and immediately loved it.

Hanna Andersson Holiday Pajamas: Is it extremely early to purchase holiday pajamas? Yes, but I did it anyway. I’ve wanted the tannenbaum set for the past couple of years so when I saw them on sale, I hit order pretty quickly. I’ll give them to Lawson and Sybil as part of their December 1st gift.

Alice & Wonder Kids Rainbow Sweatshirt: I’ve followed Danielle Moss on her blog and social media for years. Her daughter was diagnosed with leukemia last spring and Danielle has been raising money for childhood cancer ever since. 20% of the proceeds of this sweatshirt go to childhood cancer research – it will be Sybil’s “clothing” gift from us this Christmas.

Iris & Romeo Best Skin Days: Technically I ordered this product last month, but I wanted to use it for a bit to see if I’d recommend it. The short answer is an enthusiastic yes! It’s a 5 in 1 serum, moisturizer, sheer coverage, sunscreen and blue light/pollution protector. It’s quickly become my go to for every day coverage. They have a small pocket size option for $17 so you can try it without a big investment. I wear shade 3 and plan on purchasing the regular size when I run out.

Toddler Tiered Corduroy Dress: While Sybil is not a dress girl, I did buy her this one during the friends and family sale when it was 50% off. It’s an option for upcoming holidays or our family photos in November.
